| Anyone know of a local (Jacksonville to St Augustine) campground that is having Halloween for the kids this year? I think it would be fun to mix Halloween and Camping that weekend.

I don't know if you would call it "local" to you, but I hear there is a Halloween thing going on at Jellystone park in Madison, Fl. a friend of mine is taking her granddaugther there.
I will be camping with the N. Fl. popup campers the weekend before Halloween at Coe's landing here in Tallahassee. This is a annual trip for us. We will have decorations, a potluck dinner, and the kids are going to trick-or-treat to all the campers. Even the campers not with our group have a great time.

I believe that Campbuds are going to Hanna Park for Halloween you could join them.
We normally do the Trick or Treat thing with the girls and their cousin in Argyle Forest.

These Halloween events are not local to Jaxsonville but I thought I would post them anyway in case anyone was interested.
Special Events for Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
HAUNTED TRAM RIDES
Date: Friday, October 24, 2008 and Saturday, October 25, 2008
Description: Lots of family fun awaits you at the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park’s annual Haunted Tram Rides. Board the trams for a haunting trip down Pepper Creek Trail where you will experience a series of spooky scenarios. A Haunted House featuring “the Alien Encounter” will be set up in the Florida Room. Games for the children and clowns will provide lots of fun. The Sheriff’s Department will provide a Child Identification program. Refreshments and souvenirs will be available.
Fees: Tram rides $5.00 donation for adults (age 13 and over), and $3.00 for children. Haunted House featuring the “Alien Encounter” $2.00 per person.

Special Events for Crystal River Preserve State Park
HAUNTED HALLOWEEN
Date: October 24th and 25th, 2008. 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Description: HAUNTED HALLOWEEN EVENT
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Friends of Crystal River State Parks is hosting a Haunted Halloween Event at the Crystal River Preserve State Park and Big Bend Seagrasses/St. Martins Marsh Aquatic Preserves Visitor’s Center. This event is scheduled for Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25. Festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. and run until 10:00 p.m. each night.
This year, visitors are invited to join in the festivities which will include “Terrifying Tram Tours” through the “F-f-f-fearsome forest” and “Ghastly Graveyard”, “Beastly Boat Rides” down the “Creepy Crystal River” and of course “Marooned Manor” haunted house featuring “Dr. Evil’s Laboratory”.
Food will be available as the Friend’s group will be cooking up some eerie edibles which will include “stuffed intestines” (hot dogs) and “brain soup” (chili).
