We just got back from Fort Clinch. We had a great get away as usual. It was raining big time when we got there Friday afternoon. As you can see, they haven't done much for the drainage. We visited the Fort yesterday and spoke with Ranger George Berninger (he also participates in the living history as a Command Sergeant) about improvements to Fort Clinch. He said it takes all he can muster just to keep the State Park operational. It made me want to come home and write the Governor and complain. "State dollars continue to be wasted on items that local governments should be picking up " and give aways like the tax free weeks.
Ok off my soap box. I hope we have a little better weather this coming weekend for the EAT, ugh DRINK, ugh relax, ugh whatever..
The new entrance to the fort is open as well as the new push button gate. (These are sites 7,6,5,4 looking from site 10.)
