Sweet now to find out if we can camp on site. I have heard that you can. I will be like giddy teenager once I get the tickets and make reservation for the camper.

No that was the Turkey Run at the Daytona Speedway. You may be able to set up as a vendor at the gatornationals but I would scared to see the fees involved.

Greg, I was there this past year and noticed some campgrounds on the road leading in. Seems like they were within golf cart range. Is there camping allowed in the actual parking lot? If so could you give some details?
On a related note, has anyone been to the Orlando street nationals in October? Ever stayed onsite?
Thanks,
Paul

I have been told that there is camping available on site. I don't have any info yet I pm'd a member at rv.net that stated that he has camped on site. i will let you know when I get a response. The closest campground is the Jaycees. I understand it fills up with a lot of crazies. If I can not get on the grounds I might consider it. I have been wanting to go since I was a little boy watching on tv. Do you know what you get with the top eliminator tickets?
Never heard of the Orlando street nationals. I will have to :google it.

| Hi my name is Chris. I was linked to this site trying to find out the rates for this years gatornationals campground run by the jaycees. I saw you post about both the gators and the street nationals in orlando. I live about five minutes from Orlando Speedworld Dragway which is where the street nats are held. First of all if you are a drag racing fan of any type this is the race to see. The most wild door cars in the world are here. We camp at the track every year for this event. The track is located right off Highway 50 in Bithlo Florida. The camping is on the spectator side of the track. No hookups as you are just in the grass parking lot. They have a large number of campers every year and it is only getting larger. The dates for 08 are oct 31 --- nov 2nd. We also camp in gainesville for the gators at the jaycees campground. Been doing this for years. same spot look for the big NHRA banner hanging in the trees along the back. This campground is about two miles from the track on the same road as the track. Lot of fun. It can get crazy in there from time to time but the state troopers patrol as more of a presence than anything else, so this keeps things in check. Not sure what type of vendor you are but in years past they have had t-shirt making trailers and food vendors in the campground. This campground has only water hookups. They allow you to run your generator 24-7. This is true of orlando also. Hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me at jonesbunch93@earthlink.net . They do camp at the track for the gators but it is like camping in a parking lot. not much room to do much. I guess they are trying to get as many in there as they can.

| Is anyone trying to get a group together to camp at the Gatornationals? We would be interested in hooking up with another family as we have a 7 year old. I have no idea where to camp there or what the fees are. Any advice is welcome.

I just got the following information back from the Jaycees about camping in their lot.
Regular sites will be 70 with a stay until Sunday and 105 with a stay until
Monday.
Water sites will be 90 with a stay until Sunday and 135 with a stay until
Monday.
RV sites are 100 with a stay until Sunday and 150 with a stay until Monday.
As far as arrival goes. We tend to fill up on Thursday and Friday, so it
depends on what type of site you want. Water sites obviously go the
fastest. RV sites will include water when available.

| Another new to the forum here, but there is a state park, with W/E not far from Gainesville. It usually books up pretty fast, but can't hurt to check with ReserveAmerica, for Paines Pairie State Preserve. It is just south, about a 20 minute drive to the strip.
