I have it out in the garage and I will try to get a picture of it this weekend. However, you can see parts of it in some of these pictures.

I have about $35 invested in it and they are very simple to make.

Parts;
  • Styrofoam packing box from Wally-World (free)
  • Hardware cloth ($10)
  • Lamp Kit from Home Depot ($7)
  • Single inline Thermostat from Home Depot ($10)
  • 12V fan and power supply (found out of an old computers power supply)
  • Digital Thermometer that reads Humidity and air temp ($8 @ Wally World)
  • Egg Carton (I have plenty of those)
  • Old 8x10 picture frame lens
  • Duct Tape
  • sponge
  • long straw (I used a piece of 1/4" pvc tubing)
I had a success ratio of 50% on my first try. Out of the 8 eggs, 2 were not fertile, 1 quit on me about 12 days, and the other looked good at 18 days, but never made it. I waited until 25 days before throwing it out. This one could have been my fault as I didn't start all the eggs on the same day because my birds wasn't laying a lot at the time.

I wouldn't use it if I had to pay for it. But I can get it so I use it. Most of all our cars have Tire pressure sensors. And It helps keep the light off on the dash.

I was thinking about after the valentine campout.  That way I have time to build the incubator and not have to worry about them over the weekend.

That will be best, because unless you have a egg turner, you will have to turn them at least 3 times a days.

Okay I got the oil changed and installed a new filter in the truck this weekend. Changing oil seems to be getting more expensive each time. It's tough to have a diesel. 3 gallons of oil @ $24/gallon, but in the long run, it's worth it.

I also replaced the fuel filter, as I also replace it each time I change the oil. This time however, kinda got me a little worried. I pull the old one out, re-primed the cartridge, then cranked the truck as normal. After Betsy fired off, she ran for about 6 seconds then shut off. I never had that happen before and I have replaced that filter at least 10 times. After a little more priming, she finally came to life. I have always feared the fuel system on a diesel. but all is well and she is ready to go.
