Hello everyone my name is Edward (AirgunEddie). My family and I are new to camping in fact we've only been twice. We use a tent and a small screen house. I've looked around this group and it seems like everyone here has a TT or PUP. Does anyone here in the Jacksonville area still tent camp or is that a thing of the past? If you do use a tent and camp in the fall how do you stay warm at night when the temp drops?
OBTW I'll call Hanna Park in the morning to see about getting a reservation for that weekend

hi Ed, i did some tent camping up north, (years ago)and would just get a really good sleeping bag, and also bring along some extra quilts and blankets. seemed to work. also an air mattress or cot to keep you off the ground helps. i stayed in a tent when it was 28 degrees and snowing out!!! even if the weather man says its going to be nice, bring extra blankets along....its better to have it if you need it....!!!

Hi Eddie,,,I for one LOVE tent camping ,,we did it for years but due to age(no comments from some members) and the arrival of a new family member 2years ago we moved to a PUP. Heck we liked the PUP so much we bought two ,,well that's not the whole story but it will do for now,,,

Eddie There are 12 members here that camp in a tents so hopefully some of them will chime in here to help you out. As a former tent camper I used a very good sleeping bag and a ground mat to keep warm. Ofcouse it does not hurt to bring along a friend for warmth.
