Hello Everyone,

I have to take our TT in for some service work becasue the heat is not blowing in the rear of the TT properly; we found some tears in the duct work so that may be the problem. Since I have to take it for service, I want to get our yearly maintenance and checks done also. I am going to Dick Gore's because they are close to me and they sale Flagstaff which is the sister product to the Rockwood. I want to have the bearings repacked ( I think that's right) and the systems checked. How much should I expect to pay to have the bearings repacked? What are some other things that I should have done to be ready for the summer? I have been looking through the manuals but just want to make sure I don't miss anything. Thanks for whatever help you can give. Our TT has the tandem axles also.

P.S. I can't wait until things slow down so that we can get out and do some camping with you all.

can't help you with pricing, but bearing packing is pretty easy (just makes a huge mess). Shouldn't be to expensive.

On another note, can you get bearing buddies for campers? I have them on my boat trailer but this thread just made me think I don't think I've seen them on anything else.

Have them check the lap sealant on the roof as a leak can lead to big bucks down the road. I just had my TT repaired by them for lightning damage and I was very pleased. James was my service writer and was very proffesional.

Delores,, you can figure on about $150.00 to $200.00 per axel at Dick Gores:shock:,,,contact Clyde he might be able to help you with that end of the work,,,very fair and does good work,,,wouldn't take my vehicles any where else,,

AURadar,,since your camper is not submerged in water there is really no need for the B/B's,,,however there is a similar item that will keep your brearings oiled. I have not tried them as of yet but do know some campers that really favor them,,,I just take mine to Clyde,,( Clyde & Dawn) and say fix it,,,,I'm lazy ,,:relaxed,,

Bearing Buddy's are available for all size axles.   3,500 5 lug wheel; 5,200 6 lug wheel; 6,000 6 and 8 lug; 7,000, and 8,000 8 lug.

Most newer models have a type of EZ lube hub which make bearing buddies obsolete.   Your axle will have a rubber boot in the grease cap.

I suggest you do a repack and install a new seal.  Good way to check the brakes and tighten the hubs.
