Sherry and I are sitting in our recliners listening to the ocean and enjoying the night breeze when suddenly a guy dressed in dark clothes appears and starts panhandling.  I immediately told him we wouldn't be able to help him but he goes into his story about how he just walked all the way from Miami and he got pulled over for DUI but he was really just tired, he jumped the fence to get in and see if he could get some help, etc.  I again told him I wasn't going to be able to help him and then he says just 30 cents or maybe a shot of whatever I happened to be drinking would work.  I finally got him to leave after I told him the ranger was going to be walking by any minute on his nightly check (true) but he just went next door to try again.

It was really strange to think about it but based on his clothes I'm sure he planned to break in, steal or rob someone to get what he needed but maybe he just couldn't wait and had to ask for a drink.

The ranger did show up just after this and followed the guy out while trying to reach the FB police but he didn't follow the guy all the way to ensure he got pulled over.  I thought that was a bit lax, the fellow was obviously up to no good and a little police interrogation would have at least let him know people were on to him.

Aside from this little detail the weekend was absolutely beautiful, the A/C kept the camper nice and cold without too much effort and a good time was had by all.  Sunday AM we went to Shells in Daytona Beach for fish tacos and surprisingly they were absolutely delicious again.  If you know someone in Jax that makes good blackened fish tacos let me know, I'm hungry again.

Enjoy your time there, I suspect you won't have anything at all to worry about.  I really like that CG, just wish it was a little easier to get a reservation there.

Tell me about. This is our favorite park we have to reserve 11 months out to get the site we want.

The funny thing was that Thursday before the Memorial day holiday there were two different cancellations for ocean front sites for all three days.  Each time I saw a cancellation before I could decide to grab one soneone else already did.  I wasn't really sure I could go since my weekend plans were up in the air at the time.  I wish I had grabbed one though.

I had thought about the possibility of someone walking down US 1 and kinda dropping by.  Mr Glock may have to come out and play if things got out of hand..  He watches my every move.

We will be there in Oct and with dually and Luvs2Camp in November, Turkey weekend and Rod day..

You are right about that Richard. Mr Walther watches my back. If anyone did not know it is now legal to bring your friends into FL state parks.

Yeah, I have a "Double Action" plan that can be rapidly deployed.
