Hello,

I have booked a campsite for the Suwannee river music park cg. I was just

wondering if anyone has stayed there, and what they thought about the park. My

wife and I wanted to stay there and see the music acts for the labor day

weekend. Any info on this park would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have not been there before, either. However, everything I read seems to give it good reviews.

I have not stayed there but spent the day there once and was not all that impressed. I have read mixed reviews over the years. The one topic that sticks out in my head was problems with the electrical hookups. Some of our members have stayed there recently maybe they will give you their thoughts.

Gypsy is right Stephen Foster is not that far away if you want to stop by and visit the group. I think we have 13 members there that weekend.

A very basic park. No pads, not level,No heated or air in rest rooms. Sit on front porch of office if you want wifi in your lap, no table just a rocking chair. Their main thing is country music shows. We were there once alone and wonce with a group. It is mostly dirt and if it rains hard it becomes mud. I personally will not go back. The wife asked the lady in the office what was to do around there and she was told, go to Lake City if you want any kind of entertainment. Good for a overnighter at best. Friendly and clean. We camped here twice in a TT.

Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park can be good or bad, depends on what you're looking for, we like to experience everything at least once and if the company is good, that's all we need.  The CG's main purpose is Music.

We personally enjoyed our stay a few months back.  We had a blast on the Golf Cart (they rent if you don't have one), bicycling could be easy or hard, depending on which route you take.  They have pickin' and grinnin', sheds where folks get together and play their guitars, banjos, etc. (we enjoyed watching/listening one evening).  There is a quaint little shopping area, country crafts mainly.  There is a restaurant which was pretty good.  Let's see, there's canoeing, hiking trails, horse trails...

Here's their website, you can learn more about these events and more.

We stayed there last August. We did not stay in the full hook-up loop, but stayed at a site along the main road going in near the bathrooms. We had only W/E. I really did not like the full hook-up as the sites were tight, they were heavily shaded and it seemed very damp. Our site backed up to the nature area near a walking trial. It was a large and deep site and provided enough shade from the blazing sun. We were there in august. Overall a nice park. Pool was large and the campground was very clean. We stayed during an off week so the park was very quite. We rented a canoe and took a 3hr trip down the Suwanee. That area is very nice. The river is amazing and peaceful. If you like this campground you will love Yellowjacket campground in Old Town. Its maybe 1 hour from this one. We have been there several times and absolutely love it. Its a great atmosphere, staff is friendly and you are right on the Suwanee. We are heading back again for Labor day weekend At the music park you are not near the river. It a short walk, but not visible from any site. Make sure you bring lots of bug spray as they can be brutal.
