Ok….if you don’t mind, I’d like do a little “FOOD” preplanning for the NEFLCC S.R.S.P. camping trip.  My favorite subject!  I’m going to fire up the smoker either Friday or Saturday evening.  I’ll bring 6 racks of baby back ribs to share and they won’t take long to cook.  If you want to smoke an addition item just let me know. We can decide which day you guys want me to cook now or after we get there. This isn’t a formal pot luck.  Just grab it and run or hang around and swap camping stories.  I’m open to any ideas and don’t feel bad if you can’t make it.  Below are cooking times for various meats for the Orion smoker.

PRODUCT                  WEIGHT         COOK TIME

Chicken                        3-4 lbs             1 hr 10 min

Whole Turkey              20 lbs              2 hr 15 min

Whole Turkey              15 lbs              1 hr 45 min

Prime Rib                     7-8 lbs             1 hr 30 min

Beef Brisket                 6-7 lbs             3 hr

Beef Brisket                 13-14 lbs         4 hr 30 min

Baby Back Ribs           6 racks            1 hr 15 min

Baby Back Ribs           3 racks            1 hr 10 min

Pork Roast                   7 lbs                 1 hr 15 min

Boston Butt                  5 lbs                 3 hr 30 min

Boston Butt                  (2) 6-7 lbs        4 hr 30 min

Salmon Filet                 2-3 lbs              30 min

Chicken Wings             20 wings           45 min

Chicken Wings 40 wings           1 hr
