I'm heading south if Hanna gathers strength and comes this way.  We should have a more accurate forecast by Thursday.  I wonder if Silver River is booked, or maybe Crystal River.

Well, if it looks safe to do so, head over here to hospitality on the Nature Coast!!! There's Encore and Rock Crusher Canyon in Crystal River. And Nature Coast Landings. Also Chassaoaks, a new one south of Homosassa on 19.

The party's at our house in Spring Hill!!!

I can see no reason to leave I honestly think that the media tries to scare the pants of us with all the what ifs.

For example I don't remember the storms name or year but I can remember Jacksonville evacuating in either 98 or 99. There was a storm coming and people cleared out. The company I was working for at the time gave everyone two days off and sent our disaster team to Atlanta. Then the storm turned and stayed 150 miles off shore. Friends of ours spent 14 hours on the road and got no farther than the state border on 75.

I watch the storms closely and if it really looks like it is coming here I will leave. I have not seen anything so far that would make me want leave.

You must be one fast driver there Joe. But since you are going to Tenn anyway would you mind stopping by my brothers and pick up a wood stove I bought two years ago but have not had time to pick up. :)

We are going to stay here and make the most of it.  I am going to turn the ole Sandpiper into the wind, put the stabilizers down and make believe we are on a fabulous cruise.  We will be eating steak, lobster bisque, and Publix ice cream.  We will take pictures of the pool filling with water and the oak trees losing more limbs, by the way, Fay's are still here.

Besides, we plan to be at Fort Clinch in 3 weeks so we have to stay in practice.

Joe, have a good time and be safe..

Somehow I don't think it would fit.

But then again with all the toys you somehow pack onto your truck and camper I believe you could do it.

Yeah Greg, that was Floyd and it scared this town big time only to just destroy our pier. Still, we have seen what a tropical storm can do and these things have a mind of their own. I was always lax with these things but no more. Just a little wiggle to the left and Hannah could be a real #itch!

I know one thing, it's better to be safe than sorry.  Mother Nature (like women) are so unpredictable.  If it's pretty close and powerful, you won't be able to get out at the last minute.  Things can be replaced, people can't.

If a serious enough storm, 2 or higher looks like it might come close, I'm heading out and taking my grandson with me; my opinion is anyone with young children should leave with a storm strength of 2 or higher, it can give them nightmares for a long time.

I remember as a child a grade 5 coming at us in Okinowa, turning north suddenly and everyone thought it was safe and it was a massive storm, it turned in the night and hit the other side of the Island killing 3 thousand people.  The damage we sustained from the outer winds before it turned and from it turning back was unbelievable.  I saw metal trash cans (rubbermaid wasn't around yet) flying through the air like feathers.  Water seeped through the concrete blocks of the house because of hour fierce the winds were...it was scary.

"Whats going to happen is going to happen."  Been here all my life and not going anywhere.  Bring on Katrina, Floyd, Dora, whoever.  My God rules so what he says goes.  I will stay here and take my chances.  Insurance for the damage, hope for the masses.

I think Hannah just may pass us by, but I'm worried about Ike now.....Oh well, the camper is packed. Since we live in a double-wide mobile home, we aren't always given a choice about evacuating. For now, I think I'll take a nap....

I understand and agree with you but I do have my limits. Remember what Moses said, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God"
