Hi folks
I found the link while looking around on Craigs List
My wife and I were going to be out this weekend but some medical issues prevented us enjoying the trailer this weekend.
The trip I am really looking forward to is Camp Blanding and Kingsley Lake in a couple of weeks. Nothing like walking out of the trailer and walking a few feet to get into the water. First chance we have been able to get in there all year.
Our last long trip was a week at Ft Wilderness at DW. That was fun but hectic also. We bought a new TT in the spring and have hardly gone out.
When do most folks here decide to put the camper up for the winter?

Hello Mike
I love Camp Blanding/Kingsley lake we used to launch our boat there on a regular basis untill my brother in law left the Marine reserve. We have also stayed at the private campground next to the base a couple of times.
We never put our camper up for the winter in fact we use it more during the cold months. One of the great things about Florida is the mild winters.

Welcome MikeM. I was thinking about taking my Mom out to Camp Blanding. Is there a long waiting list? One of the guys on my husband's ship said that its a great spot for fishing.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Retired military get to reserve 3 months in advance, guard members get 6 months in advance at Camp Blanding.
Not much of a chance to get the holidays or any weekend during summer vacation time. Now as school started, I was able to reserve this upcoming weekend or the next with no problem. I selected the 2nd weekend as I was supposed to be a Goldhead this weekend. Oh well
Thinking about purchasing a 2 person kayak for the wife and I to play in the water. Anyone have any experience or recommendations with kayaks?
The latest I camped last year was Thanksgiving at Lake Louisia. Still got down to the low 40s down there. Not sure if I can pull that off this year as usually the wife cooks dinner for the family in the area.
