Just wanted to stop by and say hi.  Wifey and I bought our first pu on my birthday in November.  We went and picked it up,then went home to load up for the KOA in Starke.   We had a blast, but it was cold....... I am such a wuss when it comes to cold weather.

Not sure how much we will be camping as I only have every third weekend off.  We have cancelled our cruise for the end of March and have decided to go camping instead.  We are thinking Gatlinburg.  I really hope to be able to go on some of the outings that ya'll have from time to time.

Be safe,

Steve

Steve and Cindy  welcome to the group and best of wishes on your new camping adventures.  What a great birthday present I am going to have to talk to my wife about this one.  I think I got some socks on my last birthday (JK) :D

:welcome Steve and Cindy. It looks like one of your dogs is a Shih Tzu. We have a Shih Tzu name CutiePie who loves to go camping. I think she likes it just as much as we do.

Welcome aboard Steve & Cindy. Sorry we won't get to meet ya'll and all the other new members at Hanna Park on New Years, but Dawn & I will toast a :beer to all the new members from the Sunny Beaches of Key West.

Its great to see this little camping group of, what started out as 3 odd ball boaters, take off and watch it grow. Seems like new members are joining everyday.

A big round of :clap to Greg and Phil for doing such a "Great Job". You both should be proud of how this site has turned out.

Keep up the Great Work !!!

Clyde :angler & Dawn :relaxed

p.s.  Omar the caption below the dog picture is Great !!!! It says it all !!!

Thank you for the compliments on the picture! The credit goes to my extremely "high tech" Wife.

Boaters???? Did anybody say BOATERS????? I love fishing! I was an instructor at the Jacksonville Marine Institute for 5 years. I still have all the coordinates from all my "spots" outside the Jettys. Here is a pic of my 1969 Pacemaker. I still have a few things to do before I put this baby in the water.

I also agree with you on giving credit to whoever created this Website/Club. Heather and I are available to help in whatever you need!

Delores,

I believe our Shih Tzu has some mental issues.  He is cute and the DW LOVES him to death, but he really does some stupid stuff.  The Poodle is my baby.

Clyde & Dawn,

How long will it take to get to Key West?  We had a cruise planned for March but cancelled it when we bought the pu.  Gatlinburg sounds like to ticket now.  Ya'll have fun and be safe.

Steve & Cindy

Steve,

CutiePie is also known as CrazyCutie within the family, so I can imagine. All of hear little quirks make me love her even more though.

Steve, we never drive straight thru. We always stop in Florida City and spend the night, then get up the following morning and drive to Key West. On average it takes us about 9 hours to drive from Jax. to Florida City. That includes stopping for food, gas, and the wives bathroom breaks. The biggest problem is US 1 from Key Largo to Key West, it's a 2 lane road that is very hard to pass on if your towing a trailer or boat. And God forbid there be a accident, it makes J. Turner Butler during rush hour look like the Daytona 500.

I would like to go down there for 4-5 nights and stay.  What cg will you be using?  The ones I have seen online look so small, like everyone is bunched up together.

The sad part Steve is that they are smaller than they look in the pictures. I think Dawn & I have stayed at just about all of them in the lower Keys.

A lot depends on what time of the year you plan on going down there, and how far in advance you can make reservations.

If your going in the summer, which is their Off-Season...believe it or not. I say stay at Bahia Honda state park. To me it is by far the best camping in the lower Keys. You just have to make reservations well in advance.

If its just you and the wife and you want to pull a "Clyde" and do the "Duval Crawl" stay at Boyds campground on Stock Island. Cheaper cab fare.

Clyde
