Hello all from Clearwater, FL.

Happened across a post on RV.net from Fla-gypsy and discovered this site and while not exactly from NE Florida, we do a lot of our camping in your neighborhood and other SE states.  Matter of fact we'll be at Ft. Clinch, from 2/10 - 2/18 enjoying our so far mild winter, and then another 9 days at Anastasia SP in April, our N.C. grandchildren's spring break.

We began our camping over 40 years ago with a couple of old Army surplus blankets and a tarp, and as we matured (aged) migrated to tents, a small sail boat (yes, you can camp afloat), a couple of popup's and finally a travel trailer a couple of years ago.  As a 22 year military veteran, we've camped  in one form or another over a lot the USA, and a few places overseas, with the last 20 years primarily here in the southeast.

Like most of you, we camp pretty much year round, trying to get in at least one weekend per month or more this time of year.  We managed 48 nights in 2006, 53 in 2007 and 6 so far in 2008, including News Year Eve at Skidaway Island, GA.  While I'm now fully retired, (meaning roaming the neighborhood on trash days in search of firewood) DW still works full time which holds us back some.

While I'll admit, were booked on reservations through July, I'll be keeping an eye on Upcoming events and hope that we'll be meeting soon around the campfire.

Welcome Jim and April. We look forward to meeting you and your family. My husband, Aaron, has three more years before retiring from the Navy.

Welcome Jim and April                                                                     :welcome

I am glad you found us.  About 30% of our members are not from Northeast Florida.  We never hold that against them:D
