I thought I'd introduce myself.
We live in the Newberry area and we have one kid who is still traveling with us all the time when camping as well as a couple of older kids who come with us when they can make time for it.
I have been camping since the '70s when I made my first camping trip up into north Wisconsin on a motorcycle (from Great Lakes Naval Station) and spent the night in a tube tent. Big, very very big mosquitoes. Happily that did not totally turn me against camping---Heh.
Since then I've camped in most states except the extreme Northeast and Alaska. We are taking care of the NE a month from now with a trip up thru Mammoth Cave, Niagara and across to Bar Harbor/Acadia and then back via the Blue Ridge. When I retire full time Alaska is waiting and high on the list. Three or four years from now more or less.
We started out in tents, moved to bigger tents, went thru three pop-ups and finally bought a Trailmanor 2619 a month or so ago. If we had to stick with popups that may have ended our camping. we were getting less and less tolerant of the hour it takes to get them up and down and all that cranking. The Trailmanor is a wonder. 5 minutes up and down and no blue language required.
Right now we have been doing a 20 day trip every summer around the 4th of July and shorter three day trips all year. The kids have been in every state except Oregon and the Northeast as well as canada and Mexico. Frankely I expect a much more relaxing experience as we shed kids..heh. Being down to one now has reduced the bickering level by a vast amount.
Well we look forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome to the group Agesilaus. What's this about having more than one kid and bickering? Am I going to be in for a reality check with the second child coming? ~Mandy
