Ok all........Clyde has offered to bring his smoker and smoke up some boston butt and ribs (I'll also add Chicken/turkey) if anyone is interested.
There would be no cost for this ...it would be free , it is just a way to add a another option of food besides chili for those who don't do chili or would prefer something else.
We are conducting this poll to see how many would be interested in it before hand so we don't have a ton left over if no one wants/eats this.
Please vote to let us know if you would like it / eat it or not
Thanks in advance to all those who participate!!
You can check more then one option in this poll

Info:
I put a choice of two on the poll because some people may think its a good idea but wouldn't eat it. Both choices can be voted on or just one or the other

| I can't eat smoked meat or chili in the evening although I love both. My GERD will keep me up all night. Donna on the other hand will eat both at midnight- Iron stomach. So 1 will and 1 won't.

Here at Clyde & Vicki's "Road Kill Cafe"....we cook to please. My thought was to Season one Butt (Vicki's) lightly with "Road Kill Dust" (a take off from Outback)Pork Rub....The other Butt (Mine)which is too old and tough to season, I figured we'd just smoke it straight up.
The Ribs can be the same way....I like my ribs old school style....some like theirs seasoned. Just tell us what ya'll would like and we can do it. If anyone has a favorite sauce please bring it for us to try.
Chicken or Buzzard....which ever I find on the side of the road will be smoked to perfection per request.
So please....If anyone has a special request....let Vicki or I know !!!!
Thanks,
Clyde

| Clyde, I guess what I'm trying to ask as if the seasoning you use has any soy or nut products?

To be 100% honest I don't know....but it would be no problem smoking something with no spices at all to be on the safe side !!!

Clyde,
I don't know how big your smoker is but if I contributed a couple of beef roasts for the pot luck dinner, could you smoke them?

Lesa, I have a vertical rack style smoker. As much as I hate to say it, with the slab of ribs, 2 boston butts, and aprox. 12 to 15 chicken quaters. The smoker will be full to the max.
Unless you would like for me to smoke them Friday night for you. Which I can do seeing how I am starting some of the ribs on Friday night.

ok.......while my butt is being seasoned and dusted.....who is manning the margarita machine ???
I can see it will be a Long night at the Road kill Cafe (what time does the smoking/smoker start)
Lesa, What doesn't fit on the smoker I would be glad to put into my crockpot (its a big one) or in my convection oven if need be if you would like me too. If you smoke it the night before though it could just be heated on Sat. (and if it doesn't all fit we can do the other)just a thought!
As Clyde said we cook to please here at the Road Kill Cafe.
I offered your services Clyde LOL

Off the smoking subject for just a moment, does anyone know what is the earliest we can check in at Gold Head?

Stan I am not sure that there is a set earliest time for check in. Generally when I stay at State Parks if the site is ready when I arrive they will let me check in regardless of the time. I would get there as early as you like and if your site is not ready I sure you can park along the lake until it is ready.
