You got our vote for The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park! http://www.musicliveshere.com/
Just don't plan on going there during Magnolia Fest (Oct 23-26).

Harley, don't you think the July/August time would be too buggy?

I like the idea Bailiff had with MLK or Presidents weekends. Kids are out of school, longer weekend.

Hello from the grand strand in windy SC.

Let me start by saying that allot of the plans for the next rally are in process.  A poll of dates is a fine idea but there is no way that everyone will agree on a date we have already been through that last year.

I have been active looking for a new venue for the rally as it was obvious that Gold Head was too small and spread out for this growing club.  We need a space large enough for the entire group as well as the vendors and sponsors that wish to join us next year.  NOW I know that everyone does not agree with vendors and sponsors but those of us need to realize that the activities we have planned in the past and the future come at a cost. Someone has to pay for those activities.

I believe the club will benefit from me gaining local sponsors and vendors to cover those costs for us. (just as we benifited from the local companies that donated items and money for this years rally) No one will be forced to participate in the vendor or sponsor activities there will be many other activities at the rally for those campers.

I have spoken to several RV dealers who are willing to help us with the rally next year.  In return they ask that we allow them to bring some of there new units to put on display.  I also plan to invite several vendors that will offer a wide range of camping related accessories for sale.  (how many of you went to the rv show at the stadium and wished they were these types of vendors there?)

The rally is not intended to be just another camping trip where we get together eat dinner and shoot the bull we all do that most weekends when we camp.  The rally is intended to be special  and have some activities that we don't normally have time to participate in.   Such as the cutest pet contest, chili cook off, scavenger hunt and more such as a breakfast put on by one of the sponsors at no cost to the members.

I know that I am rambling here and I apologize it has been a long week here at the spring bike rally.  The point I am trying to make is that I have already put a lot of time and effort into next years rally to ensure that every one not only has the opportunity to attend but that everyone has a great time with lots of activities with no additional fees other then the cost of a weekend camp out.  So please be patient I will announce the dates and venue as soon as possible.

Greg

I guess I kind of stumbled thru this thread.I didn't really see Rally up there.Didn't know it was like next year.Buggy is not bad. That's why they have Thermacell now.I don't think I could go Hunting,Fishing or camping and not expect a bug or two.Maybe move the Swannee sugg. over to future destinations.Paula and I are up for a trail ride on the golfcart again.
