The opening ceremonies for the Olympics were the BEST I've ever seen! Mind boggling!

Yes the opening was spectacular.
One thing we noticed and finally the commentators picked up on was the cheerleader/dancers that encircled the stadium as the nations entered. They had to clap, dance, smile, and look great for over 2 hours. No telling how long they had been on their feet before their cue.
The Ralph Lauren designed uniforms looked ok.
What really amazed me was the cheers given to the American Team. The news media would like you to think we are really hated around the world. The world knows the United states is the provider for health and welfare everywhere. I realize protesters were kept miles away but the leaders of many other countrys were in attendance.

YAAAAAAY!!!! The US Women's Fencing Team just swept the sabre competition 1 - 2 - 3 !!!! The first US medals!
I used to fence foil in college. My first hubby fenced for Penn and we used to fence each other with the vacuum cleaner wands.....nuts.....
I just LOVE the Olympics! I'm glued to the TV.
