German Apple Snitzel
8 tart apples ,pared
1 egg slightly beaten
1 cup beer
1 cup flour
3/4 cup shortening or butter
1 cup sugar
2 t. cinnamon
slice apples in horizontal slices 1/2 inch thick.
core each slice, Dip in a batter of egg and beer. Roll in flour,fry in heated shortening to a golden brown.
Roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Serve hot.
You may replace beer by using another egg. Yeild 8 servings.
