Good afternoon folks. Turned out to be a nice morning on the water today....Now I'm sore....lol
How about a picture of your new toy. I want to see what kind of seat it has that you were talking about.
Okay Wink here you go.
When I bought the kayak, it's basically just a bare bone yak. I've added some flush mount rod holders and also some track mount rod holders. Then came the anchor trolley system. I'm still going to build a stakeout pole and pickup an anchor for it soon. I also made the wheel dolly to get it from the truck to the water without dragging it. With it weighing 68lbs empty, it comes in handing.

Here's a pic of it getting ready for its maiden voyage.

Here's an up close pic of the phase 3 seat.

After 4 hours on the water yesterday, my butt was a little sore, but the back felt real good. It's defiantly no speed demon in the water, but I had a great time.

No name yet Jan. I think every truck (even my show truck I had) and both campers got named Betsy.....dunno, just something I stuck with....lol
I did pick up a used sit-in-side last week off of Craigslist (you just can see the nose of it in the pic) for Kim or Hannah to putt around in. If Kim finds that she likes my SOT better as its more stable, then I will get another one for her.
Lesson learned yesterday, floating down stream for about an hour and a half will take you about 2.5 hours to paddle up stream.

You are right Richard, the fishing kayaks are not fast at all. When me and Rhonda are paddling around she can paddle circles around me.But we can get up and out alot quicker.I jump out of mine all the time when Im fishing and when I get to shallow like when the tide goes out before I get back to the launch, and have to get out and pull it.But It.s fun.

Not sure if I like the getting on and off of mine just yet. It was kinda hairy yesterday. I did manage to get out of it along the river bank without gettin wet as we found a 3.5/5 geocache. I just couldn't pass up that 5 star terrain....lol
