I just got back from a camping trip at Raccoon River campground at Panama City Beach had a good time/
There were a few sites that needed a little cleaning mine was "just" ok but trash can was over flowing. All the dumpsters had bundles of trash around them and during the entire stay they just piled up more until my last day.
The grounds- kids play area was in need of repairs had an area roped off because of hazardous conditions. Pools were kept clean. Laundry room was clean. Bath houses- showers good and clean, toilet area's good but could be better, good warm water in showers and sinks but hand soap dispensers empty and paper towels not filled very often.
The ppl working there were very nice but not real helpful with information of grounds.I was given a map with a circle on it and was told this is the area where your site is and I asked about the restroom/bathhouses and was told oh you will drive past them on your right. Their quiet hours were not enforced very well but it was not to disruptive. While setting up camp I was approached by a worker and told I need to pick up all my trash or I could be asked to leave!! I told them I have just gotten there and my site was like this but I would be glad to pick up someone else's trash for them. The woman jumped off her golf cart grabbed a trash bag that was in the can and tossed it in the back of the cart and away she went.Needless to say she left what was on the ground "on the ground"!
I would say they need to work on making these grounds better before I would reccommend them.I did have a good time overall after the first day but things should have been better. If all other places full I would go back but I would think twice about it unless there had been some needed changes.

| Thanks for the report Lamehawk. I have driven past RR but never been in, I am glad I passed it up now. Our favorite spot in PCB is St Andrews State Park

RR is an old campground. Been there ever since I can remember. what you are descibing is why I don't like private campgrounds. Usually SP's always have a certain level of upkeep, even the lowly SPs
I have stayed at the Panama City Beach RV Resort. Pricey, no shades, pretty close together, full hook-up w/cable. very nice and clean. shot walk to public beach access and pretty much at the gate of St Andrews. Next time, if you can't get a spot at St Andrews, try this one.

I would never stay at RR. It is in need of seriuous up-keep. Plus I don't like it right next to the water park.
I would highly recommend St. Andrews SP or even PC Beach RV Resort or Emerald Coast. But never RR.

| I had to stay there as no others had the time I needed and for sure it will be last on list if I ever have to again!
