Hey Stan,
We stayed here for the week of Spring Break last year with another camping family and had a great time in Savannah. We took the kids to the aquarium center, Fort Pulaski (in fact we started our National Park Passport Program here), Played golf at Bacon Park, toured Savannah, and just had a great time.
As far as the park goes, it was very clean while we were there, however the dump station was closed due to a major blockage, but they opened up a back up station for everyone. I would highly recommend this park if you are in the Savannah area, just if you go during the spring time the "No-See'ems" will tote you off!!
I took the picture below while we were at Fort Pulaski in Savannah. This is a picture of the outside wall with the damage that was done from the battle of 1862. The newer red bricks to the far left of the picture is where it was rebuilt right after the battle.
