Hey folks,

This is my first review of a campground, so I hope I do a good job.

We camped with another couple and both of us were on our maiden voyage. We looked for a campground close to home before we head out too far so we could work out the bugs.

We choose the Bryn Mawr OceanResort http://www.brynmawroceanresort.com/reef5.htm due to it's location right on the beach in St Augustine. There are quite a few lots just east of the dunes. They are seperated by three wooden walkways that go over the dunes right onto the beach. Those are obviously prime spots and were all full on our visit.

There are numerous park models available for rent if you or your friends don't have a rig.

All of the campsites have some type of pavillion with a picnic table & outdoor shower. Some pavillions are bigger and better than others. We found ours to be very nice and useful.

My friends brought their gas grill from home and it worked out very nicely on the pavillion. No open fires are allowed anywhere on the site.

We spoke to several folks who have large fifth wheel rigs and they seemed to believe that the sites are a bit tight.

I towed a 35 ft TT and found that I wasn't able to fully extend my awnning because the site was narrow and the pavillion was too close.  The same goes for my friend.  The wind was blowing something awlful during our visit, so it's just as well we didn't use the awnnings.

All of the sites have cement pads, 30 & 50 amp service, water, sewer and cable hookup. The roads are a sand shell mix.

The showers are air conditioned and were clean. My buddy said that the shower he used was slow to drain.

The sinks in the bath houses have seperate hot & cold spigots that you have to push down every 5 seconds so I wasn't too happy about that. There wasn't a ton of water pressure.

The resort had a very large pool, basketball, tennis and shuffelboard courts. The signs said no alcohol by the pools. :(

There were no activities scheduled by the resort during our stay (Friday -Monday)

The pricing was reasonable.

Garbage collection was nice. All you had to do was leave the trash by the road and it was collected very quickly.

Overall we had a great time and there are no real complaints.

There are plenty of activities and shopping relatively close by.

Let me know if I missed something.

What was your actual daily cost. You said it was reasonable but some of us are really cheap,LOL, so spell it out if you don't mind.

It was like 63.00 a night I think. I know it was $5.00 extra for an extra car. and $5 a head for anyone over 14 y.o.a.
