My wife and I spent the weekend at Flamingo Lake just off I95 in Jacksonville. It is a very well kept park, we were in site 52 right across from the cafe. There is a small beach area for sunbathing and swimming, as well as a pool, recreation center, laundry room, and small store (by the office) in case you forget something. We really enjoyed the karaoke on Friday night (DW does a great Patsy Kline singing "Crazy".  There was also a band Saturday night at the rec. center. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner-a basic menu. The staff and other campers were very friendly, the park is pet friendly and noone got upset when our 7lb fur ball "Mickey" slipped out of his collar and took off through the park. There are also small cabins that can be rented in case someone doesn't own a camper. We will be going back there in the future.

Cindy and I have been though this park a couple of times, but never camped there.  We have put it on our list of a place for a short weekend get-a-way.  I look forward to going soon.  Thanks for the info.

Steve

MAN I need a campfire, a smore and Diet Mt. Dew right now.;)

We have driven through Flamingo lake it looks like a very nice park. We live 5 miles away. If any one wants to camp there some weekend we would love to join you.

Greg

I live 2 miles from Flamingo Lake, just not far enough away. It is a nice park.

We just finsihed the weekend at Flamingo, site 32, and the North Florida Bluegrass Asso was there and performed. Made it nicer than normal as all weekend small groups were jamming at differrent campsites. Then the concert on Saturday was also great. The only thing I can think of that Flamingo lakes could do it build another showerhouse on the other/far side of the lake. Besides that it is a good spot close to JAcksonville for a weekend or week.

Sounds like fun, I saw they had a big crowd this weekend when I was passing by. I live just off of Dunn Ave and pass by frequently on my way to the River City Marketplace.
