We are currently resting at Walnut Hills Campground near Staunton, Va.  We have visited here before in 2006 and were satisfied with this facility.  Walnut Hills was a Plantation during the 18th and 19th century.  The old farm house and stable make up the camp store and on site resident mgr's home.  Both survived the Civil War.  The campground has 153 full hookup sites plus cabins and wooded tent sites.  The last time we were here, we were put on top of the "Walnut Hill" that is about 50' higher than the remainder of the campground.  Shaded by century old Black Walnut trees, our site is great.  They offer a pool, hay rides, and fishing.
