Stayed there last month and bugs were not an issue at all. But we do live in the deep south so it can change from day to day. We thought it was a nice park and plan on being there for the 4th of July. It is very close to alot of historical areas if you like that sort of thing.

I live 10 miles away and camped there a couple months ago. It has a couple nature trails to hike, boat ramp with dock for salt water fishing, and the campsites have a lot of room. Always bring bug spray because in morning/evening, the sand knats do like to come out. Especially around places with salt marshed (ie Crooked River). Take a look on the website, the park will sometimes have events. It also has a nice nature center to check out. Campsites are not issued during reservation but when you arrive, you choose from what is available. The facilities are normally in good to great condition and clean. If you have any other questions about it at all, do not hesitate to email me.

We just got back from Crooked River and we really liked it. They have daily activities in the Nature Center during the week so I am going to book a couple of days for me and the kids to hang out there. I will post a couple pics shortly.

Yea there was room for me and Mark in there. Actually I have never seen a fish cleaning station enclosed that way. I guess they must have a real problem with the birds.
