We stayed at Crooked River for three nights this past weekend and had a great time the staff were all very friendly and made our stay quite enjoyable.   The camp sites here are very large.  Most of the sites will accommodate up to a 50 foot camper and them some.  There are two loops in the campground one is some what open the other more private.  Each loop has it's own bath house.  We found the bath house to be dated but very clean when we arrived on Saturday.

Summer seems to be the slow time at Crooked River as we only counted 15 campers on Saturday night and 8 on Sunday night.  The park hosts a variety of ranger narrated programs Tuesday through Saturday.  We attended a bat walk on Saturday night with Ranger Emily and had a great time with her and the other campers present.

Our site was number 32 and was by far the largest camp site we have ever stayed in.  That is our picnic table in the left side of the following picture.

I have loaded 30 pictures in to the gallery if you would like to seem them.  I took all of the pictures within the camping loops to show you what to expect when you get there in March.

Wow! That looks like such a nice park for the rally! If we get a nice big site, you're all invited to come play petanque on our lawn.....

Does this require another type of electronic device??  Old man + little money = Geocaching with a divining rod.

Richard ~ you are just too funny for words.  I love electronics.  Hummmm divining rod, Steven mentioned something about that one?  You must be the youngest old guy I know.  There isn't anything old about you.

I've been waiting for you to report on the next electronic device (GPS). You're the smart one around here when it comes to that sort of stuff.

I've been looking at a Garmin handheld GPSMAP 60CSx . It's kinda pricy though. It's definately not a Pinto but not a Caddy.

Lesa, petanque is the French version of bocce ball, only a lot more fun. Lawn bowling. We bought a set at LLBean a few years ago and love getting a gang together to play. The worse you are at it, the better. Heckling is encouraged, which makes it the perfect game for this group.
WE HAVE THE BALLS!

Lesa,

I'm not old, just look like it.

The Garmin 60 CSx seems to get better reviews than Garmin's new Colorado or Oregon models.  All the above models seem to be too expensive for me unless ebay has a deal.  The GPS Store has the 60CSx at $329.95.  I have bought almost all my GPS units from them.  They seem to have a lower price than other sites.

I will continue to look.
I found some factory refurbished ones on ebay for as little as $269.00 w/free shipping.  One year Factory warranty.
