This is at the top of my list for favorite camp spots. My kids go to summer camp here and we spend 5 or 6 days here before they go. Most sites are large and there is a good mix of shady spots and sunny ones. The bath houses are nice and well kept.
The best part of this park is of course the springs. It has a beautiful swimming hole at the head springs and then a long run for canoeing. The park has canoe rentals onsite and the rental prices are fairly reasonable. There are a few fishing spots, lots of trails for hiking and biking. There are even trails in the back for you to bring horses and ride.
One of the favorite things for my kids is to see who is going to spot wildlife. We have seen lots of deer, turkeys, turtles, and they say the black bear are plentiful but we have never seen any.
Its less than a 2 1/2 hour drive from Jacksonville and the park is located really close to Publix, CVS, movie theater, bowling---just about anything you could need.
Disney World is less than 30 minutes away.
