Wow thanks Bailiff what a great help.  Now all I need to find is a bike trailer for Owen so we can bring our bikes.  ;)

Vicki, looks like your site is much bigger with a great grassy area for Owen to play in.

You are correct this was at one time a class A only resort the state took it over and has been keeping it up to the standards of the previous owners.  They do not allow tents and until just recently the did not allow popups.  It has been rated as one of the best state parks in the country several times.

   Vicki

Do not forget your bikes for this one.

Greg

It is a resort Phil...a camping resort.....   I love those places I also like just pulling off the road to a nice spot that has a beautiful view....doesn't matter to me if its resort ...state park, or mountain pass as long as it is nice , clean and no crazies running around...the rates are good for what ya get and it allows pets ...I'm all for it.  If it happens to be a nice resort with heated pool and saunas and all the trimings then thats great...if it happens to be a dead end road that stops at a mountain lake thats great too

I figure I'm going to have a good time and enjoy myself and as long as that happens its all good.:relaxed

Correct a resort,,"camping resort'?;),,It's a nice park just not our taste.I prefer to not camp where they have "permanent" campers/residents:?. If we had not made plans to go to Tees Mom & Dad's :(for the Holiday we might have given it a try.

Take lots of pics..

No crazies around?  I thought that's why I like hanging out with you and Dave so much!

Phil don't let the term resort fool you Topsail is still a state park there are no permanent campers. No hot tubs or heated pools.  No resteraunts  It is just better maintained then most of the state parks.  They do have cabins available for rent that used to be permanent homes they are however very seperated from the camping area.
