Some of us were talking about having our fall rally this year at Salt Springs instead of Stephen Foster.  The springs are open and they have a dinning hall that we can use for a potluck.  What do you guys and dolls think?

We can't book yet they only allow us to book 6 months in advance but we need to plan on so that we are ready when the time comes if this is what we want to do.

Its not really a secret some people call it bumping. If you want to reserve a particular site or park and don't want to wait until opening day you can make your reservation several days or a week in advance of the dates that you want. For example I want to reserve for the weekend of Sept 3rd but reserve america will not let me make that reservation before March 3rd. So I go online and make a reservation on March 1st for 6 days which will include the weekend that I want. I then wait about a week and change my reservations to remove the excess days. I have to eat the change fee but I got the site I wanted.

Change fee is only $10, so if you really want a particular site, then it's worth the fee. If you just want to be in the campground, then at 10am, you need to be on the internet and get it reserved.

When we booked Bahia Honda State Park, they had 5 sites on the water (which we got one), but 8 minutes later, they were all gone. So the tagalongs had to book a site under the trees.

Aha!!

*rubs hands together and conspires*

Well, when you first mentioned the rally dates, I went ahead and reserved the site we wanted at Stephen Foster and HOPED you confirmed those dates.....the worst thing to happen was we had to go to Stephen Foster twice in one month...I don't think that is too shabby........
