I have a suggestion for the members here.

As most of you know in the spring I park the camper and go boating. Now that we have other members with boats, why don't we try to find a campground somewhere on Lake George this summer. We can load the boats up and take the kids to Silver Glen springs, and let them spend the day swimming. Before anyone suggest Salt Run Springs, unless the moon is full and the wind is from the east, I can't get my boat up in there, too much draft. I know of one small campground Georgetown Marina, but I don't know if its big enough for the group.

Does anyone know of any other campgrounds on Lake George?

Sounds like a winner to me! I will need a little help from somebody once I get there since all I can do is tow the boat with the Bus. Believe me you do NOT want to see a 40ft. bus backing down a boat ramp. :relaxed

We are going this week to look at a place called HighBanks Marina and campground wed and Thursday after XMas.  This place may fit the bill.

We would love to try that camp/boat trip with you this summer.

Please let us know how it looks Stan. I think we could have a blast sending a day in the Glen.

We would also be interested in any CG with boat access, the only problem with us it is hard to pull the boat out every night. We have a 26' deck boat that weighs about 4,500 lbs. We have put it in with the MH but I am not happy doing that. If someone had a truck it would be much easier. Let us know what you find out.

If Ya'll bring the boats I'll have a truck to launch & recover with. We just need to find a campground. I know that at Georgetown Marina you leave the boats in the water. The problem there is a short boat ramp, but I'm sure we can launch out of Porky's fishcamp with no problem. If we can find a campground with shore power that would be great, Dawn & I would just stay on the boat and leave the camper at home.

When we get back from the keys I will call Georgetown marina and see how many camping sites they have, and by that time Stan will have checked out the other marina.
