Hi everyone...
Which campsite is better for tent camping with kids ages 11,12,and 13 all girls...11 year old had Down Syndrome (mentally handicapped)..she's an angel!! I know Huguenot has availability this weekend. Is anyone going to Hanna Park. I am a little nervous camping alone for the first time with the girls. Any pointers would be welcomed.
Thanks

| Jayne, I would say Hanna. Hugeunot doesn't have site electric or water. Hanna has alot more stuff to do. Trails, bike paths, beach, etc. Oh and Hugeunot has lots of sand to track into the tent. Last edited on Thu Mar 13th, 2008 02:54 pm by Luvs2Camp

All the sites at Hanna should have a fire ring. If not, call the front office. We did and maintenance came an installed one for us.
Have a good time.

Hi Jayne,
Unfortunately we'll be camping with about 230 young Girl Scouts at Camp Kateri this weekend. We'd love to meet up with you sometime.
Hanna Park is one of our favorite campgrounds and it's close to home. Especially with the price of diesl fuel, we get about 8-9 miles per gallon.
There is so many things to do. In the summer they have a little water park for the younger kids. The beach, fishing, biking, etc...
Have a great weekend it's going to be beautiful.

Hello Jayne,
Hanna Park is the perfect place for your first solo trip with the kids. Your kids will have a lot to do and you will have access to stores if you forget something or need something. I did my first solo trip with my kids at Hanna Park.

Hi Jayne,
We'll be at Hanna Park this weekend, I believe site 48. Stop in an say hi! We'll have our little one on Fri (1 1/2 yrs old) then our nephew, Jacob (10 yrs old) more than likely will come and stay of Saturday.
The kids should have a great time. Bring bicycles and beach stuff if you've got them.
Tom, Christie, and TC.

We did it!! We made it through our very first camping trip! The kids had a BLAST!! The tent was a 'challenge' getting it up and breaking it down...we did it just fine at home before we left, I don't know what happened when we got there . The man at the site next to us and his 2 sons helped us break the tent down (Angels!) because it was rather challenging to get that big tent back into that little bag (I am buying a plastic tote just in case this happens again) . All in all, it was a GREAT experience! We went swimming, hiking and biking...built a fire (another challenge...but we conquered it) and had a GREAT time. We will be doing this again. Also, now I do know exactly what I need to bring and what wasn't necessary...the kids and I cannot wait til our next trip!!
Thanks for all the tips
~*Jayne*~
PS...Tom,Christie and TC...we were going to come find you but, we couldn't remember what site you were at...not to far from us I'll bet..we were at 62.
