Our government has deemed the swimming area in need of repairs so they are going to close the swimming area during the busy season for swimming. That makes a lot of sense now doesn't it. I am totally frustrated with this kind of thinking. I am rethinking all planned trips to Salt Springs for the year. I will probably go ahead and make the trip on Memorial Day because I want to go over to Palatka for the "Blue Crab festival", but my mid summer (July6-12)week is out, just trying to figure out where to go swim at.

Already tried that, nothing big enough right now. I am still looking. I am going to stick with Memorial Day, I will just go down to Silver Glen to swim.

Yeppers, I called Salt Springs and they said they weren't happy about the construction either. They also said, why now?

I think we're going to hang in there and go anyway.

Now that  was a good decision Lesa to keep your reservation with Salt Springs Like I said ,   We will have a great time anyway!    I"ll  bring lots of fire wood and we can all  keep warm around the campfire and tell some crazy storys.  Hey I think that water is to cold anyways !       Joe

I guess we will be fortunate to miss all of the construction.  We will still try out the spring the end of this month.  The therapeutic action on my hand is wonderful.

Those concrete walls have been there for almost 90 years.   The last time we were there in 2005,  some areas in the southwest corner was barricaded off due to collapse.  I can't fathom the construction taking place during the busiest time of the year.

Joe, when are you and Dana headed west?

Richard

Flattire and Fla-gypsy,

Are you guys still going Memorial weekend to Salt Springs? Also, are all the sites pretty level?

Ok thanks, we haul some heavy boards in the back of the truck just incase we need to level out a bunch.  I'm going to leave them home and use the orange stackable things we have if needed.   I'm trying to lighten the load. If that is possible. We'll try and get 9 miles per gallon instead of 8.   :(

We're coming from Mandarin. I guess we'll go over the Buckman and go out 17 and turn right on 19 ?? then turn left on 310 (not sure of the road number but I think I remember the road) I know you'll go over a bridge or big overpass?

Do you continue until you see the entrance to Salt Springs? I think it is on the left of the road or is there another turn?

I go to the Girl Scout Camp out that way. Hopefully, I won't get lost.

Lesa
