The State of Florida has made a deal with Monroe county that will allow the campground to remain open year round now and is making nice improvements to the park. You can read about them here.

| This is good news, the campground beach needed some improvements. For anyone contemplating making reservations here, I'd suggest trying to avoid sites 4,5, & 6 the "noseeums" are particularly bad on these sites being right next to the mangroves. And bring your own shade, all sites are in the open, the best IMHO are those right on the beach.
