I doubted I would find anything but I thought I would see if there were any sites available for the 4th of July. I was suprised to see Goldhead is almost wide open.
I know there is not alot to offer at Goldhead since the lakes are gone but it seems unusual to me to see it that wide open on a holiday weekend.
Does anyone know of anyh reason for this amount of vacancies? Plague, bears, lions, etc?
For my use I am thinking about going ahead and reserving a site for the weekend.
I can get on Camp Blanding and go to the family recreation area to picnic and play in the water on Kingsley Lake. We did this over memorial day weekend.

Gold Head SP will always be our fall back park. Located just 30 minutes south of us, we can leave home in the winter months, after DW gets home, and still arrive before darkness. We have camped there many times in both winter and summer. The lack of water in the lakes surely take away from the desire to visit for some but the available campsites make the park our "last minute" getaway. We have stayed many weekends when we were the only campers there beside the Campground Host. My kind of peace and quiet.
