I have been meaning to pick up a weather radio for some time but most of the radios I have seen seemed cheesier to me.  I only wanted a weather radio not a flash light  with a hand crank, inverter, pocket knife  If that makes any sense at all.

I found the Midland WR-100.  It is simply a weather radio the only frill is that it uses the S.A.M.E technology so I only get the alerts for the county that I am currently in. That means I won't be woken up in the middle of the night for an alert  two counties away.

Publix had a promotion going with one of the local tv stations to push those. The weather forecaster from the station was at different Publix stores a couple of days a week with people who would program the radio for your area.
It didn't seem all that difficult to me, but of course, Dale did it!

Steven and I purchased the same weather radio.

Here is the link to get the S.A.M.E. weather radio codes County by County.  It also has the frequency codes.

Hope the link works.

Have a safe a dry weekend.

Thanks for the link Lesa.  I already have it saved here but you reminded me that I need to save it on the phone for use when camping.

PS  Nice to hear from you again.  It's been too long.
