I am thinking about trying to get one of these for my camper. Has anyone used this or been in a camper that has one installed. I would like to get some reviews from actual users before spending this much for it.

JT's Strong Arm Stabilizer (retail $379.97)

Here is a video explaining the way it works.....Sounds like it should work.

I know I'm not the saviest camper at the fire... but it seems you could fabricate a similiar contraption for less moolah.  Just sayin...

(Read between the lines.... she says "I can make that...)

I actually am thinking about trying to make one myself. The problem I am having is finding the tubing that will slide into one another and won't be sloppy.

I am thinking of the light weight struts sold at the camping store possibly used to hold open hatch lids or "lift up beds".  We could also look at the struts used to hold up car hoods.  Just a thought.

Actually I think you need to clamp them off when you are set up, if not then the rocking would still be there. I haven't gave up, but I am in the design stage right now (up there in the old noggin).

I am still going to try and make one, but I have to get my garage organized first. Right now I am piping air through out it. I should have that done today and then work on my work bench area.......Always something.

I just got done fixing the chain saw...what a bugger..never had one apart before and when I replaced the broken primer bulb the brittle fuel line came out of the tank.  There are no good pictures or diagrams of how to route the lines....man it was a bugger...finally got it done.

Richard...the cost of the Eliminator is only $259  plus $32  shipping.  I don't know if I can make one that cheap.  I am seriously considering ordering it tonight. (with the wifes blessing of course) and try to have it by Laura Walker..

As big as your campers are, ya'll need that? I mean as heavy as yours is Kevin it moves when you walk around inside.

Remember Im still kinda new at this.

Jimmy..  go to RVNet and read the forums over there.  You will find that Richard did his research.  The chocks are good, but the strongarms are by far the best thing they talk about for stopping rocking/movement in the camper.

Kevin if you order one tonight, do you think you will get it before next weekend? I really would like to test yours out to make sure that this will fix the rocking problems. The bunk house is in the front, so the back feels everything when them kids move around.

Jimmy, I really don't think the big and heavy part has anything to do with it. It just the design.

Also Kevin, if you order it, will you still need the stabilizer for your king pin? I haven't gotten it down from the overhead storage in my outback shed, but I am planning to load it up it you still need it. Let me know

They quoted me $37.50 for shipping......You must be getting a discount.....LOL

Well  the boss has spoken  :X   She doesn't think spending the $300 right now is a good idea.  This one doesn't rock as much as the Travel Trailers did... so for now I'm keeping the credit card put away...
