Heather and I just bought this baby...it's a 32ft. Chris Craft Commander. We are transforming our DJ business to include "party boat" charters.

Re-powered last year with twin 351 Windsors. Sleeps six. We are re-configuring the interior for hosting parties onboard. 6-10 people max. Sunset dinner cruises, Football day transportation in style! (You get the pic). LOL

She has central AC among other goodies. Camping with you all is still our number one hobby.......the boat is a career move to take me into retirement!

Let's face it.....not many 42+ year old DJs out there.....Hahahahaha...

She's a nice looking lady.  I'm sure you're aware that BOAT is an acronym for Break Out Another Thousand!

We have her out of the water right now. She just got a new "bottom job" looking to put her back in the water in 4 weeks. re-finishing the woodwork and bright-work. Changing the image inside from a casual boat theme to a more formal party theme.

Her name is "magic carpet" I agree with thunt! A boat is just a biggggggg hole in the water where you drop money into!

It's gets even worse in our case, because she is a business investment  (Commercial registrations, licensing, insurance) We already have requests for cruise info and times. She should be making money for us in about two months...

Just like our DJ business, we are catering to the average folks like we all! We'll take the rich ones too....(even though not as much fun)

She is at the Green Cove Springs Marina Joe. Let me know if you and Dana want to come by and see her...We will give you the tour. I may look more like a marina worker than a boat owner when you get there though...Hehe

Speaking of DJ? Anybody practicing Karaoke for Saturday night?????

Omar ,    When Dana & I do the Great loop one of these days,  that is about the size boat that we will need and she will be named    "THE DANA MARIE"   I have to name the boat after Dana or she won't go with me... See I'm always thinking ahead.....

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW that is sooooooooo sweet from you Joe! Well? In the mean time, I'm sure I can schedule a couple of sunset cruises for NEFLCC members only and you can all just 'chip-in" for gas and BYOB.

Then maybe Dana will get the boat "fever" LOL

Omar,

Been there done that.  That was the biggest Black Hole I have ever owned.  Dockage was $150 a month every month.  Gas averaged $200-300 per week (we were at Silver Glen every week) if I wasn't working.  Maintenance was over $100 month average and the least of all was the $900 payment.   We really enjoyed our boats and our trip to the Bahamas was priceless but a camping we will go.

The fifth wheel is our cheapest ticket and has been the most enjoyable..

BTW, won't you need a commercial Capitan's License and a USCG inspection to use the boat commercially??

Prices have changed over the years a bit....Dockage is $340 a month, Commercial Registration was $300/year. Florida Charter License $22.00Yr.

6-pack license was $800.00 but the absolute worse was commercial vessel liability......$3000per year for $1,000,000 coverage.

I do all the maintenance myself.....it also helps to work at Carquest Auto Parts (cost +10% discount).

There are a lot of charter vessels out there catering to the rich people for either fishing or inshore cruises. Most are economically "out of reach" for the average folks and none are run by entertainment pros.

I'm well known to the Cost Guard here in Jax. Richard. I'm an active member of the auxiliary and a certified Interpreter.

I teach GPS classes in between everything else going on in our hectic lifes!

I'm sure this is a lot more info (boring) than any NEFLCC member wanted to know about me but then again.....Richard asked.

Omar.....the boys were so bummed they couldn't hook up with you yesterday---now that soccer has started--our Saturdays are eaten up at the fields.  They would have loved to have helped you....I'm sure there is more work to do so maybe we can get together another day and they can help you out.

That was so weird when you called yesterday.....Not 30 mins beforehand--I was telling John about a crazy dream I had.  Alek's room was on fire & we all got out of the house & went to my neighbors house to wait for the fire dept.  You & Heather were staying here a few days & had the bus in my driveway.  When the fire started=you tried to move the bus out of the driveway but the firetruck was blocking you in so you just left it. Then you ran to the fire truck, grabbed some equipment & helped put out the fire. You wanted that fire out & away from your bus!!!  You kept hollering==="THats my baby.........don't let nothing happen to my baby!!"     The fire was put out & everyone was safe===however I had 3 inchs of water downstairs & you and John were deciding what to do to get the water out.  Heather & I decided to go shopping and left you boys in charge!  It is so funny what we dream about & then the timing of your call was a little strange...

See you next weekend at the rally.

Deb
