I know everyone knows about Hannah Park, but this was our second time and we caught fish!! The 1st time I could not find the fish and was using the wrong bait.
We stayed Friday night - Sunday morning. We reserved a nice site and will try to get this one each time. I noticed my neighbor fishing early one morning when I was walking the dogs and he was pulling in fish. I went and chatted with him and he told what bait he was using,
The family had a good time and my daughter made new friends, she LOVES camping. The kids found some cool trails right next to our site. We will be going again real soon. We have to go to this park until her soccer is over, 1st week in May then we will be trying some new places.
Can you guys hear that.... Yep, the fish just keep calling my name.
The bigger fish I was catching were Striped bass or Sunshine bass, they are very similar. I think they were the sunshine bass because all the lines but one were broken.
check out the pics

They were using hooks! A die hard fisherman will tell you what they caught (multiplied by a factor of 2) but never what they used for bait!

I'll get it out of him...Jesse, what bait did you use? Did you fish the lake? Are the fish edible or just sport fishing?
I've seen his catches, he's a serious fisherman and knows how to catch them!

Taylor has fished in that lake for years and never caught a thing. Maybe next time we all head to Hanna Park grasshopper can help Taylor catch a fish. She would be so happy. LOL
Loved your pictures. Your kids are awesome. I bet they might like to help me bake a cake in a cardboard box. (the Girl Scout way)

Sparetire, just because we are family does not mean I will tell all the secrets. And my name is GRASSHOPER
Ok..... Since we are all camping buddies and this info will help your camping experience be that much better, I will share.
You use dead shrimp.
Fish 10ft off the edges of the lake. Be careful of the bait stealers........... BLUE CRAB. Yep, I pulled in 2 of those. Do NOT use a float, the fish feed on the bottom. Use very SMALL weight and NOT a big hook. This feels weird telling the secrets. I only did it so others can have fun while camping.
There is sign posted on the limit of fish you can take out of the lake. I do not eat fish from the lake. I let those go so others can enjoy the experience of catching fish.
Campbuds,
Only one of those kids is mine, the cute blonde girl. She would love to bake a cake

I could call you another name...but I won't!
Well heck, Joe and I do most of our fishing with dead shrimp, just haven't fished at Hannah Park yet.

| When you fish a lake, one usually does not think to use shrimp.

| We are staying there for the first time in a couple of weeks. Can you recommend any good sites? We have a 32 foot trailer with a slideout. Thanks!
